Norcal Premier Soccer is excited and pleased to announce we have reached an agreement with the Surf Cup to award an automatic Surf Cup spot to the Norcal State Cup Premier (Super) boys and girls winners, ages U9 - U14. This agreement begins for the teams that finished at the top of the 2007 Cup(s) for the Surf Cup held during the Summer, 2008.

"The Norcal State Cup(s) are only four years old", said League Manager Benjamin Ziemer, "However, with the tremendous support from the Competitive Clubs of Northern California, we have been able to create a hugely successful and top level competition in a short time. We are pleased to be able to reach this agreement with the Surf Cup because it will offer the top teams, at that particular time, a great opportunity to compete in another great event. As our older Norcal Cup is developed we will be able to offer this opportunity to them as well. "

Norcal proudly announces: The Under 15 - Under 19 Norcal State Cup(s), girls and boys, will be launched in Fall 2008. The format works around the High School soccer season in the manner, below and allows all Clubs to compete whether they play Fall or Winter High School soccer! Team registration will be open soon!

Qualifying rounds:
In the fall, teams that are not playing High School soccer will compete in their qualifying rounds.

In the winter, the teams who are not playing in their High School season will compete in their qualifying rounds.

Group Play and Finals:
After the official high school season is complete at the end of February, the teams will compete at the state level in group play. The Premier, Gold and Silver groupings will be dependent on the teams qualifying results.

The 2008 winners will be crowned in May. Judging from the experience in the younger age groups, Norcal expects the four age groups of teams, girls and boys, to be competing in over 35 Divisions.

The Norcal State Cup is US Club's oldest and largest State Cup. US Club Soccer State Cups are expanding each year across the country with the long term goal of having a State Cup in every State.

The automatic spot will be awarded to the 2007 winner for the upcoming Surf Cup held this summer.
