Recreational Fall 2008 Registration Flyer

Begins May 1st

Registration for the Fall 2008 recreational soccer season begins on May 1, 2008. After May 31 there will be a late fee of $25 per player. Registration will not be accepted after June 30, 2008.

On-Line Registration. CVYSL will again use on-line registration for recreational registration only. We encourage everyone to register online, as this makes it easier for our volunteers and yourself, by allowing registration from the convenience of your home or office. Instruction will be provided during your registration process. If your child did not play in CVYSL in Fall 2007, then you must submit proof of birth to complete your registration. This must be a government issued document: a passport or birth certificate only. Visit www.cvysl.org to access online registration and obtain mailing information.

Walk-in registration. Although we prefer that you register via our online registration process, we have scheduled one (1) walk-in registration date. The date for walk-in registration is

May 17 (Saturday) from 11 AM to 1 PM

We will have 1601 forms for you to complete, or you can print out forms from our website to complete at home and expedite your registration process. Bring the following to walk-in registration: (2-copies of 1601 form, downloadable from our website), birth certificate (if your child did not play in CVYSL in Fall 2007), and a check or money order made out to "CVYSL", or cash.

$110 for each additional sibling playing Division 4 recreational soccer	Prior to May 31st, full registration fee refund less $10 per player
$20 raffle ticket buy-in, per family (buy-in attached to first child’s registration) – see below for details	June 1st – June 30th, full registration fee refund less $25 per player
$25 late fee accessed after May 31st	July 1 – First Game, full registration fee refund less $50 per player. No refund after 1st game.
	Late fees and raffle ticket buy-in are not refundable

Raffle Fundraiser: This year all families participating in the recreational soccer program will be required to sell or purchase ten raffle tickets at a cost of $2 per ticket. The raffle will be held during Opening Day and will have a top prize of $ 1,000 cash. Tickets will be distributed to each family through the older siblings coach and must be returned by September 6 to be entered into the raffle. Proceeds from the raffle will be used to purchase league equipment. If you have any questions concerning the raffle, please contact the raffle coordinator at raffle@cvysl.org.

Season Information: Teams will play 9 games on Saturday, and 1 game on Sunday, beginning on September 6. Opening Day, including team photos, will be held on September 7. Practices are at the discretion of the coaches, but typically start in August. Number of practices will vary, but generally increase as the age of the child increases. Games and practices are typically held at local schools in the Cambrian and San Jose Unified School Districts and at local parks.

Team Information: Parents will be notified of team assignments by coaches on or before August 1, 2008. You may make buddy/coach requests and the age group coordinators (AGCs) will do their best to honor them. Please indicate on your child’s registration form if you are able to coach. We are a volunteer league and ALWAYS need coaches. The league is split into age groups: under 6 years old (U6), U7, U8, U9, U10, U12, U14, U16. July 31 is used as the cut off date for age groups. Example: If your child is 5 years old on or before July 31, 2008, then they can play in the U6 age group.
