Attention!!
The 2008 District 2 Spring Soccer Playing League will be using a new website this year, which is different from the one that has been used last year and for as long as I can remember! The new league management software is still evolving but it has been used successfully last fall by both the Delgado and the Redwood Playing Leagues.
If your team played in the Delgado League in Fall , then you already have a Login/Site NAME and PASSWORD that will work for the D2 Spring Soccer website and you are all set to register your team when Spring Registration opens.
If you did not play in Delgado League, (e.g. you played Abronzino or West Valley Class 4 Play Through), then you will first need to request a PASSWORD by registering with the site.
The webmaster will respond to your request and issue you an initial PASSWORD with which you can immediately logon. You will then be set to register your team when Spring Registration opens.
Read the Coach/Manager Registration Page First.
Coach/Manager Page
If your a new team to the system you will need to register first as a manager. If you register as anything else, you will not be able to perform any of the subsequent steps for your teams registration.
Soccer FACTOID: District 2 Spring League is a paper roster league. What is this you may inquire? Well it means that your roster is the one that you submit while registering for spring league in the D2 registration website. Your fall CYSA goldenrod is not valid for the spring league. So you don’t have to add/drop/transfer players to your CYSA goldenrod roster. You will be using each players CYSA ID for check in. If you have a new player who played on another division 1 or 3 team, make sure to obtain their player pass and 1601 form for spring league competition. However, you will not be using your CYSA golden rod and thus all restrictions that apply to the CYSA golden rod do not apply to your spring roster. Players can only play for one D2 Spring League registered team (this is a D2 spring league rule).
Coaches/Managers:
Make sure you register online for District II Spring Soccer. Go to the D2 Spring Website to register. You will need the following information to register by the deadline, March 4th:
- Player Name
- Jersey Number
- CYSA ID #
- Birthdate
- CYSA Team ID#
Spring Registration Fees:
1) District II fees: $250 per team
2) Central Valley fees: $400 per team
3) New Player fees: $15.25 per player (see FAQ section)
4) Write one check to Central SC Valley Soccer: $250 + $400 + $15.25 per new player
Note: The team fee for Central Valley will be used to pay for field permits, supplies and maintenance.
Spring Referee Fees:
1) CV teams will pay for referees for home games only. See pay schedule. Click Here.
Procedures:
1) Go to the D2 Spring Website to register. For players you do not yet have USYS ID #s for, leave it blank - your team registration will still be valid. Print out 2 copies of the Roster.
2) Register any players new to CYSA by filling out a USYS 1601 form and submitting it with all your paperwork. Include a copy of their birth certificate, which must be government issued - passport ok - hospital documents are not ok.
3) Register any coaches/managers new to CYSA by filling out a USYS 1628 form and submitting it with all your paperwork.
4) (NEW Procedure) For players who do not have ID cards, print them from the D2 Spring page. Fill cards out as instructed - leave ID # blank for players you are submitting registration forms for. Glue a 1" x 1" full face photo of the player to the card.
5) (NEW Procedure) For coaches who do not have ID cards, print them from the D2 Spring page. Fill cards out as instructed - leave ID # blank for coaches you are submitting registration forms for. You can use a word processor to edit the "player pass" file and replace "Player" with "Coach". Highlight the outside of both sides of the coaches cards with a yellow marker pen. Glue a 1" x 1" full face photo of the coach to the card.
6) Turn in the D2 Spring Roster(not your CYSA golden Rod), all your coach/player forms, ID cards and fees to Angie, the Assistant Registrar. Angie can be reached at her office during the daytime at:
Angie Onate 408-379-2010 compreg@cvysl.org 1925 Winchester Blvd Suite 105 Campbell, CA. 95008
7) For those of you who are forming new teams for Spring Soccer and need the player ID’s, if the players played for Central Valley, the league can provide the USYS player ID’s - but only for players who were registered with Central Valley. If you have kids who played with Almaden, West Valley, Los Gatos, West Valley, or any other D2 league, then either contact the original coach or one of our league officials who can try to obtain this info:
Anne-Marie Moore - registrar@cvysl.org
8) When you receive your registration materials back from Angie, double check that the player and coaches cards are signed, have the correct picture attached, etc. Then have the cards laminated - can be done at Kinkos. Trim the laminate about an 1/8" from the cards. It is then recommended that you paper punch a hole in each card (same corner each card - pick a corner without important text), and run a large key ring through the cards - harder to lose them this way. If you are new to comp soccer, the refs are going to ask for these cards before each game, verify the identity of players/coaches, and then keep them until after the game. Why? Any player/coach red carded (not in CV!) will have their card sent to the District Offices. Don’t forget to retrieve them from the ref after the game ends!!
FAQ:
1) USYS ID #s are unique to every registered CYSA player.
2) Any player who filled out the USYS 1601 form and played for a CYSA team in 2007 has a USYS ID #. Note that PAL and South Bay Youth Soccer are not affiliated with CYSA, so any player signing up for the first time with Central Valley, and who has not previously registered with Central Valley or any other D2 league, will need to fill out a USYS 1601 form and turn it in so a USYS ID # can be generated before March 4th - note that if this can not be completed before March 4th, turn in the registration form along with the rest of your paperwork as described in the "Procedures" section above. In addition, that player must pay $15.25 to register in D2.
